[Sickbay]: Round Four Scans and Vaccines

There has been quite a lot of activity in Sickbay over the last couple of days. In addition to new guests arriving on the Enterprise, all of whom need to be cleared and vaccinated when necessary, there are the wounded who have come back from Alemar III and those looking in on them. Dr. Crusher has never been more glad that she isn't short-staffed.
While Lieutenant Worf and his security detail bring in the new passengers, Beverly ensures those recuperating have enough space and privacy. Beds may be limited, but nobody will be on the floor in her sickbay. For those who haven't been here before, Sickbay is fairly ordinary for a ship's hospital. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you might see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones.
As for the staff, they're all well-groomed and friendly. As a matter of fact, all personnel look harmless. Well, perhaps excluding the sun avatar, but Trance Gemini is as skilled as the Starfleet officers.
"All right, come in," one of them calls out as you enter. "Don't be shy. It's just a scan and a hypospray, nothing to worry about."
[ooc: Open log! For new characters (August and September apps), tagging isn't mandatory but ICly going to sickbay is. So if you'd prefer to skip threading with one of our doctors, you can handwave that your character got a clean bill of health and a shot and were sent on their merry way. For those who are tagging, we have Julian Bashir, Trance Gemini, and Simon Tam on deck, with Beverly Crusher by request only. So please specify in the subject line of your tag who you would like. For those returned from the Alemar III plot, if you are not requesting a thread with a doctor but would like your character open for visitors, put "Visiting Post" in your subject line, or specify if it's locked to specific visitors. If you would like more details about sickbay, here's the wiki page. If you haven't made your intro yet, you can assume the doctors will want to see your character shortly after they arrive, and backtagging is love!]

Slow down, excitable puppy-man.
He takes a moment to look at her, trying to determine--well, what time discrepancy might lie between them. She's wearing the uniform that was phased out about a year ago, replaced with the one Julian was currently wearing. So at least a year. Possibly more.
That could make things incredibly complicated.
"I'm helping with the examinations, actually. We have Q to blame for this little diversion. He's been winking people here from all over space and time. Here being the Enterprise, by the way. 2366."
no subject
When he mentions Q though... Her mouth turns in to a line. That would explain quite a bit, actually. Yet as he continues, she stills. "Enterprise, 2366?"
Not that she hadn't heard him right, at least she thinks she didn't, but that is the past. Almost a decade ago, but not quite. She can recall the last time in the past, and knows that it is a very delicate line they walk now. That they are here... "Why is he doing that?"
no subject
It's about to get even more complicated. "Right, under Captain Picard. As to why, I have no idea, I've not talked to him. You remember how that went the last time, I'm sure." Or maybe she doesn't, but he didn't much feel like getting hypnotized or whatever he'd done again.
no subject
Her brows furrow. She doesn't need to say much more than that as Julian should know. No matter what they know, it has to stay there in their minds, locked away, lest they change something. Add to that they are on a starship...
But, as to Q... "One encounter with Q in all my lifetimes is still one too many. What is the official stance from Enterprise?"
no subject
"I'd be completely happy with just the one myself. Right now it's...wait and see, mostly. It's not just other Starfleet officers he's abducting, it's people from the far past and future as well. It's...well, it's a spectacular bloody mess not even waiting to happen."
no subject
"And is Q around?" Although with Q, who would know... Might be, might not. Unless he made himself known, who knew. Well, that certainly put a bump in the path. "Although maybe I don't want him to be."
No doubt things could get even hairier. Jadzia gives a mental shrug, before those blue eyes settle on him. "So. I guess that means you can check me out?" Clear her.
no subject
"I've not seen him myself, though he's popped up to speak with Captain Picard I'm sure. Most of the reports we've seen imply he prefers to bother the Enterprise crew anyway. We're all just pieces in whatever game he's playing at."
Julian nods, of course he'll be the one to get Jadzia up to speed, both medically and on the situation. "I'll get you cleared, no worries. It's just a standard examination." Before, her phrasing might have flustered him a little, but now he doesn't react to it at all.
no subject
There is a slight look given at him, contemplative, but it's gone as soon as it arrives. It's a warm and easy smile that graces her lips. "Good thing you're here then. No unexpected surprises for a strange doctor."
But beyond that, he is a good friend, one she trusts with her life- has trusted with her life.
no subject
"None at all." He smiles back, still feeling relieved from seeing a friendly and familiar face--it's incredibly welcome. "Right then, shall we?"
no subject
no subject
Because they would be fools indeed for turning down someone with Jadzia's knowledge and experience.
He leads her over to the biobed he's claimed as his station, so to speak, and gets out a tricorder. It's not like he doesn't know her medical profile, but just in case he's not available, the others needed to as well. "Honestly, both of us are probably completely up-to-date on all the required vaccinations, but best to be cautious."
no subject
Not that she would. No doubt she can poke her nose in somewhere and do something, even if it is just magic tricks... And another thought as she watches him with his tricorder. She didn't even have Dax yet... At least the her of this time. Curzon wouldn't die for another year, give or take. "It could be worse, and considering some of the places we have ended up."
no subject
Well. He'd very nearly managed to not think about that for a day. Can't have that.
"I'm sure we can find something for you to do." Julian produces a hypospray containing the standard run of vaccinations and antibiotics, and doses her with it. "And done."
no subject
"Good thing I have many talents then." Although she still wasn't as flexible as Emony, so no gymnastics. But, with that done, Jadzia gives him a grin. "I knew there was a reason you were my favourite doctor."
no subject
There was going to be quite a lot they needed to tell each other, he thinks. Starting with precisely how much they couldn't tell each other.
no subject
A little quirk of her eyebrow. "But if she really can, then no doubt you know some place that will work?"
no subject
He does grab a nurse, though, just to let them know that he'll be leaving for a short time. True to his suspicion, she just waves him off.
"Well, there's any number of places we can find a quiet corner. It's privacy that's the trick. You won't have assigned quarters yet--we could go to mine."
He's not meaning it as any sort of come-on, though after the words left his mouth he realized it could certainly be taken as such. Oops.
no subject
"If you think it's safe." Her mind doesn't even turn to that alternate suggestion. No, there is that serious air that settles over her. "Then that will work."
no subject
"Despite having a roommate, he's not even from this reality, so even if he's about he'll have no idea what we're discussing. It's more private than Ten Forward, at least."
He leads Jadzia out of Sickbay with a nod to the security staff, then to the turbolift.
no subject
She follows him to the turbolift. "A good thing the Enterprise can handle additional people... Otherwise, who knows where we'd be. Dropped on a planet until the mess was cleaned up- which, with Q..."
Could be quite some time. Although, her mind shifts, starts to work back to the year, trying to think of events that happened. And yes... "Although, depending on the stardate."
But she leaves it at that, zipping her mouth.
no subject
"Deck seven, section four," he says as they step into the turbolift--the doors obligingly swish shut, and then they're in motion.
"Exactly. It's...not exactly an ideal situation he's put us in."
no subject
"Ah." Amazing how much could be conveyed with one noise. Leaning back against the wall, she decides it was like that. "All we're missing is Benjamin."
Musing to the last time the three of them got put in to the past. That hadn't gone at all as planned. But she gives him a dry smile. "We'll jump those hurdles when they come then."
no subject
It's...well, the Prime Directive doesn't really have an established precedence for this, he thinks.
"This is infinitely preferable to that time," Julian says--because is it ever. The past had been uncomfortable for any number of reasons, and it had only gotten worse when Gabriel Bell had been killed trying to defend them.
"I'm honestly glad you're here, Jadzia." There's familiar faces, but it's a massive relief to have one that he can actually talk to.
no subject
No need to hide what they were, just keep what they knew inside their heads.
She moves to give a little nudge on his shoulder, smiling at him. Julian has grown to be a very good friend over the years, one she knows she can count on in life and death situations. "Good to hear, or else I might just have to go find a new doctor, and I do hate breaking them in..."
no subject
Someone did threaten to kill him, but nothing came of it.
"'Breaking them in' indeed, honestly. I'd ask how many you chased off over the years, but I'd probably regret it."
With the arrival of the turbolift on deck seven, he sweeps his arm like the dandy he rather is. "Our temporary accommodations."
