[Sickbay]: Round Four Scans and Vaccines

There has been quite a lot of activity in Sickbay over the last couple of days. In addition to new guests arriving on the Enterprise, all of whom need to be cleared and vaccinated when necessary, there are the wounded who have come back from Alemar III and those looking in on them. Dr. Crusher has never been more glad that she isn't short-staffed.
While Lieutenant Worf and his security detail bring in the new passengers, Beverly ensures those recuperating have enough space and privacy. Beds may be limited, but nobody will be on the floor in her sickbay. For those who haven't been here before, Sickbay is fairly ordinary for a ship's hospital. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you might see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones.
As for the staff, they're all well-groomed and friendly. As a matter of fact, all personnel look harmless. Well, perhaps excluding the sun avatar, but Trance Gemini is as skilled as the Starfleet officers.
"All right, come in," one of them calls out as you enter. "Don't be shy. It's just a scan and a hypospray, nothing to worry about."
[ooc: Open log! For new characters (August and September apps), tagging isn't mandatory but ICly going to sickbay is. So if you'd prefer to skip threading with one of our doctors, you can handwave that your character got a clean bill of health and a shot and were sent on their merry way. For those who are tagging, we have Julian Bashir, Trance Gemini, and Simon Tam on deck, with Beverly Crusher by request only. So please specify in the subject line of your tag who you would like. For those returned from the Alemar III plot, if you are not requesting a thread with a doctor but would like your character open for visitors, put "Visiting Post" in your subject line, or specify if it's locked to specific visitors. If you would like more details about sickbay, here's the wiki page. If you haven't made your intro yet, you can assume the doctors will want to see your character shortly after they arrive, and backtagging is love!]
Re: Visiting Post! | OTA especially Marion and the crew
As she steps into sickbay, it's clear she's carrying a vase of flowers. "Um, I heard you were going to be in sickbay for a bit, so I thought I'd bring you something to help cheer the place up."
no subject
Friendly is not usually the tone Lucie takes when she's talking to her roommate. Especially since they hadn't spoken since Trance came to their quarters and Lucie had managed to get completely the wrong idea about what was going on, treating him like some sort of bully picking on the poor, defenceless Trance.
(He's actually pretty sure Trance could take him in a fight if she tried.)
So he's surprised to see his roommate, surprised to see that she's carrying some flowers. Which is actually a nice gesture; he kind of misses the greenery in his quarters on the Andromeda and scattered in places around the ship.
"Lucie. Uh, hi. Thanks. That's, uh, that's nice."
no subject
She brings the flowers to his bedside table and sets them down. "So... how are you feeling?" The tone is awkward, forced-casual.
no subject
Possibly not wanting to see him die is not exactly the highest compliment he's ever received, but in truth, he's used to it.
And the flowers really are a genuinely nice gesture; they're nothing like anything much that grows on the Andromeda, but still, they're a step away from the emptiness he feels in much of this ship.
He shifts on the bed, pushing himself up to sit straighter.
"Trance wants to keep me in here for a few days though."
no subject
He knows that Dylan is sharing with someone he hasn't as yet been able to drop by uninvited and get in the way or any other way of making himself known.
"Hey, boss." He's already started to get the look on his face that normally would end up with most likely Rommie removing him from the local area to minimize the collateral damage of Harper trying to hit on women.
no subject
She eyes Harper cautiously.
no subject
It's the one that usually leads to Rommie, lips pursed, manhandling him out of whatever room the woman he's looking at is in, or Dylan ordering him to go do something that has the same effect.
"Harper," he says, and there's a wary edge in his voice. He's seen Harper trying to introduce himself to female strangers too many times not to be wary.
He doesn't need any more help from his friends in trying to get on with Lucie. Not after Trance's effort.
no subject
He smiled at Lucie. "Seamus Harper." He even offered a hand to her. "Because I doubt Dylan will introduce me." At least the snark was minimal. "I'm usually stuck in the machine shop."
no subject
"Lucie Miller," she explains, offering a hand. "Sorry if he doesn't ever introduce you."
no subject
"Harper. Lucie is my roommate."
Whatever Harper means by that 'not at all' about him being alone. Hell, Lucie doesn't even like him. Dylan's surprised she's even here to see him, as much as he appreciates the flowers. They barely speak most of the time; Dylan's been good to his word to stay out of her way if she wanted him to.
Now, though, because it is the polite thing to do and because, whatever the state of things is with him and Lucie and, for that matter, with him and Harper, he's going to do the polite thing here, he looks back over at Lucie.
"Lucie, Harper's the engineer on my ship."
no subject
"Chief engineer and a genius. I'm the one they look to when everything is all going wrong an they need something making to save the day." He was getting a little carried away. "I help save the day a lot."
He pauses, but the quiet only lasts a moment, no such luck at getting Harper to be quiet so long.
"You know he hasn't mentioned you to me. Which is a shame."
no subject
She glanced back at Dylan. "Does he always try to chat women up in hospital rooms?"
no subject
What he absolutely did not need to complicate things with Lucie was for one of his friends to upset her. As if Trance playing on her sympathies to make Dylan look bad wasn't enough, now there's Harper, who is very definitely trying to hit on her.
Dylan closes his eyes for a moment, rubbing at a spot of tension on one side of his forehead.
"Yeah," he says, opening his eyes. "Anywhere he meets them, actually. Which," he adds, with a sharp look at Harper, "is why he's usually in the machine shop."
no subject
"You know he's still here." The engineer made a face.
no subject
Really, it was just her luck. Show up to make a peace offering, and something comes up and she needs to run off. But, well, an awkward all-feely conversation was never really Lucie's thing anyway. And she really didn't want to see Harper try to hit on her again.
no subject
Except that if Harper's not going to go, it's probably smarter for Lucie to leave. He wishes that weren't the case. There was a chance that they were going to have a proper conversation until Harper showed up and started making horrible attempts at hitting on her. Which is not going to help him with Lucie.
Or with Harper.
