ten_fwd | [Sickbay]: Round Four Scans and Vaccines

There has been quite a lot of activity in Sickbay over the last couple of days. In addition to new guests arriving on the Enterprise, all of whom need to be cleared and vaccinated when necessary, there are the wounded who have come back from Alemar III and those looking in on them. Dr. Crusher has never been more glad that she isn't short-staffed.

While Lieutenant Worf and his security detail bring in the new passengers, Beverly ensures those recuperating have enough space and privacy. Beds may be limited, but nobody will be on the floor in her sickbay. For those who haven't been here before, Sickbay is fairly ordinary for a ship's hospital. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you might see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones.

As for the staff, they're all well-groomed and friendly. As a matter of fact, all personnel look harmless. Well, perhaps excluding the sun avatar, but Trance Gemini is as skilled as the Starfleet officers.

"All right, come in," one of them calls out as you enter. "Don't be shy. It's just a scan and a hypospray, nothing to worry about."

There's a man sat on one of the beds in Sickbay, eyes closed, head nodding along to a tune... that's playing through a set of headphones. The cable trails down his body, to an object half-concealed by his red jacket. It's an old Sony Walkman, in working condition.

As you get closer, you can probably hear the man singing under his breath.

Trance walked up to him. He'd probably notice the force lance strapped to her hip and the two knives in her boots. And then there was the horns. Trance wasn't hard to spot, with her golden orange and yellow skin that literally glittered in the light and the skin tight leather.

"Hi, I'm Trance Gemini. Could I ask you to come with me?"

Sorry, Trance, but Mr. Quill is fully lost in in his music, head still bobbing away.

Going to take more than talking to him.

Trance crouched down in front of him in her leather getup and with one hand, removed the headphones from his head.

"Hi."

And Quill just jerks his head back in surprise.

"Hey, hey! Woah, there, darlin'." He's just going to reach to grab the headphones back. "You don't just take someone's headphones."

"It's your turn." Trance handed the headphones back--after all, she didn't want them. "Come with me please. Then you can put the headphones back on and listen all you want. Agreed?"

"...You seriously tryin' to convince me into a med scan?" Quill remarks, taking the headphones back and putting them around his neck. "This ain't my first space rodeo, I know the drill."

He reaches down, hitting the "pause" button on the Walkman at his belt.

"Well you really don't have much of a choice. It's either the med scan or I get those nice officers over there to throw you in V-deck for a while. And then give you the scan." Trance gave him a shrug. "Or I could just knock you out and do it anyway. It would really go much faster if you just cooperate. "

She gave him a bright smile.

"So you'll cooperate?"

Slow blink, because... did that just happen?

Either way, he's co-operative.

"Anyone ever tell you that you got a way with people?"

Trance is still giving him a bright smile. "Why yes, I have heard that before. Thank you!" She took his arm and tried to lead him to one of the biobeds.

"This wont take long at all! Is there anything I should know before I start? Like your name?"

"Wasn't that much've a compliment, darlin'" He mutters, climbing up onto the bed.

"Peter Quill." He answers, not bothering to tack on his title.

"This bed will just help me scan you and record any information. Is there anything you want fixed or anything I need to note before we get started?" Trance set about scanning and preparing the hypospray.

"Nope. Nothin'." And that's when the tricorder starts bleeping a bit. Seems it's detected Mr. Quill's non-human half. It'll also pick up the translator implant in his neck.

He's just going to be sitting there, slumped, looking kind of bored. Med scans always were boring.
