[Sickbay]: Round Four Scans and Vaccines

There has been quite a lot of activity in Sickbay over the last couple of days. In addition to new guests arriving on the Enterprise, all of whom need to be cleared and vaccinated when necessary, there are the wounded who have come back from Alemar III and those looking in on them. Dr. Crusher has never been more glad that she isn't short-staffed.

While Lieutenant Worf and his security detail bring in the new passengers, Beverly ensures those recuperating have enough space and privacy. Beds may be limited, but nobody will be on the floor in her sickbay. For those who haven't been here before, Sickbay is fairly ordinary for a ship's hospital. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you might see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones.

As for the staff, they're all well-groomed and friendly. As a matter of fact, all personnel look harmless. Well, perhaps excluding the sun avatar, but Trance Gemini is as skilled as the Starfleet officers.

"All right, come in," one of them calls out as you enter. "Don't be shy. It's just a scan and a hypospray, nothing to worry about."

"Please sit down on the biobed. That way the computer can record your genetic imprint and that of your implants in case someone needs help putting you back together." Trance reached over to prep the hypospray.

"What's your name?"

"I am aware." Though Seven doubted that the crew of this ship would have any idea how to approach her Borg implants. Or if they did, they would be discomfited by them.

"Seven of Nine. I am part of the crew of the Federation starship Voyager."

Which, due to her research, she knew wasn't yet created.

"Good, then I don't need to walk you through it. You're probably more familiar with Federation technology than I am. I'm the medical officer and environmental systems officer on the Commonwealth starship Andromeda Ascendant.

Trance grabbed the hypo she prepped and stuck it in the woman's neck, while the medical CPU scanned her. "Our chief engineer would love to talk to you about your implants, if you don't mind. Seamus Harper. He has a cerebral implant behind his ear that allows him to connect to different kinds of technology. Although..." Trance trails off, taking a look at Seven, " he might require a chaperone. "

Seven tilts her head in acknowledgement, filing away the woman's name and rank--she's not familiar with any Commonwealth, at least not one that doesn't come with another qualifier. But that doesn't really concern her, because she doesn't belong here either.

She's too alarmed by the implied idea of someone interfacing with her to bring up the observation she'd had of Trance's body temperature--she visibly stiffens at the idea, even moreso than she already was.

"I would speak with him." Emphasis on 'speak', she's just gotten used to being alone in her head and found that she's actually afraid of the idea of not being.

"If he gets out of control or a little lewd just cuff him on the ear and tell him it's from Rommie." Trance smiled and gave the woman a wink. "Actually, no don't do that he might like it. Tell you what, if you ever want to talk to him about implants and technology, let me know. I'll act as chaperone. Harper may be a genius, but he has the hormones of a 13 year old and the control of a human toddler."
