The Doctor hasn't spent much time in this room since Rose vanished without a trace. It's too much like sitting exactly in the hot spot. He doesn't know where she is. Doesn't know how she is. If she's safe. Jackie Tyler's high, harsh voice coming back to him all the time,

But is she safe, Doctor?

He doesn't know. He doesn't know anything about where Rose has gone now. Whether it was back to the time and place they'd just left before getting stuck here. Whether it was back to her mother and Earth. Whether it's whatever Q thinks people should go next, like tiers in a game.

But since bringing his earlier self here to speak of Lucie, he's felt compelled to return.



Which is where he is now. Standing a few feet inside the door, surveying the changes to the room since the new person moved into the spot that was left open when Rose did go.

A Samurai Walks into a Gym... (OTA)

Samanosuke had rather enjoyed the revisiting his youth; spending time with Elizabeth, laughing over 40-foot, Edo-period scrolls of epic fart battles--yes, there were actual, historical works of art depicting such satire--and generally trying to distract one another from the fact that they were trapped in prepubescent bodies. It was not the worst thing he had ever lived through, after all. But all the same, he was glad to be back to his old self, and making up for lost time with some extra drills with bamboo shinai in the open gym. It wasn't that he felt out of shape--he was in remarkable health for a man on the far side of his forties--but he preferred to keep in practice, and be prepared for any emergency.

They walked in with Trever, Ailyshia clearly quite grumpy. She settled herself down with the pods that contained some plants that she was only allowed to handle in this lab. She had dried supplies for emergencies, but fresh always worked better. She set the cat down and then touched the domes, putting a sight shield around each, rendering them invisible. Then with one last gold eyed glare at the boys, did the same to herself so she could work without anyone seeing exactly what she was doing.

"So," Theiorn said, "You wanted to know more about us, yes?" he pulled up a stool that put him between the door and the invisible Queen and leaned back.

Theiorn sat on a stool near the door, leaned back and seemingly at ease, though his eyes focused on anyone and everyone who entered.

Ailyshia had been invisible a moment before, but had since reappeared so that she could go fetch something from a high shelf. She couldn't reach it easily, and hesitated... Easy enough to use craft to fetch it down. But her training recommended she ask a male who served her. But that would be admitting he served her... No, actually it wouldn't. But it would still soothe. Did she want to make a gesture towards peace with the fool male, or d for herself?

Against her better judgement she growled, "They put one of my plants up there," she pointed.

His face split into a wide grin as he went over and fetched it down. He wasn't that much taller than her, but his use of craft went unremarked.

Feel free to talk to her while she waits for him, or to talk to him once she's invisible and working again, for he will go to take the guard position again.

[Sickbay]: Round Twelve Scans and Vaccines

Although the alternate timeline's Dr. Crusher has done outstanding work helping to combat the virus that turned so many of the ship's passengers into children earlier in the month, it's still Dr. Julian Bashir acting as the interim CMO, with all the duties and responsibilities that entails.

At least now there's only the number of children there should be, with the medical and scientific staff having succeeded in returning all Q's victims to their correct age.

For those entering for the first time, no doubt you've been escorted here by the security team. You may be surprised to see that it's a fairly ordinary-looking hospital. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you might see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones. As for the staff, they're all well-groomed and friendly — even the more unusual aliens.

There's nothing to worry about, the doctors just want to make sure you aren't carrying any viruses or are vulnerable to catching new diseases. Once you've been checked over — a quick scan from a tricorder and any necessary vaccines — you'll be free to go. Lollipops are optional.

"All right, step on in," one of them calls out as you enter. "Don't be afraid. It's just a scan and a hypospray, nothing to worry about."
