Multiverse Primer
When she arrived in the classroom, about twenty minutes early, she immediately picked up a black marker and started to draw out a diagram on the board:
When she finished, she frowned thoughtfully at it, then grabbed a red marker to add a few additional details. "Still thinking about you, asshole," she murmured, once she was finished.
With that accomplished, she sighed and started arranging the chairs in a semi-circle. It wasn't a class so much as a conversation. Might even become a support group. Who knew?
Fatima certainly didn't feel like a teacher. More like a soldier who'd just gone through a war. A soldier in awesome boots, admittedly. Still, it was hard to believe anyone would take her seriously.
The eternal battle of a dhampir.
Re: Multiverse Primer
He's just there, sitting somewhat precariously on the back of a chair. It really should tip over but, he's leaned forward enough that it won't. Currently.
It's also kinda hard to say when he came in.
no subject
Oh, and he had a pretty-boy face. Dangerous. Fatima loved pretty boys almost as much as she loved strappy sandals.
Almost...
But a professional attitude won out. For the moment. "This is a multiverse primer course," she said, perching herself on a stool in front of the board and crossing her legs. "Just a discussion group to explain some of the basics. Sadly, Dean Winchester plays a ginormous role in those basics for me."
no subject
But Alec does fit the pretty-boy look fairly well. He's even got pointy ears! Currently he's just wearing jeans and a 'I went to Middle Earth and All I Got Was My Finger Cut Off" t-shirt without his usual long blue coat. (Though the scar across his left eye does kinda damage the look a little bit.)
"I guess that makes me the pissboy," Alec said idly before snapping back to attention.
"Did he really? I have to admit I only know a little bit about him. Only met a version of him once so I don't know much about his role in the multiverse enough to see him as the red-headed stepchild." He waggled a hand about.
no subject
Her eyebrows jumped up slightly. "You know a little bit about him from here or..."
She made an absent, prompting gesture.
no subject
He paused and frowned a bit. "And teenage girls. I've heard stuff about him from teenage girls, but as they're teenage girls, I'm not sure how trustworthy they are."
no subject
It wasn't entirely unheard of. She was pretty sure from the data she and Morgana had collected in Zelien that it had happened before. But this was the first time she'd met anyone besides herself and Beverly who was on their second trip around the merry-go-round.
She reached into her bag, pulling out one of her notebooks. "It doesn't seem like you need this course. But I'd love to hear about your experiences."

Well, that... that was rather on point for the internal crisis she was facing.
"Is this personal experience there? Who is Dean?"
no subject
She flipped her notebook shut with a a loud snap and stood up, walking over to take stock of her new customer.
Truth be told, she hadn't been expecting anyone to show.
"But before I make a complete fool of myself, I should probably ask if this is your first multiverse or not. I was getting trolled by a veteran earlier."
no subject
Trolls? Grainne hadn't seen any when she walked in, but she wouldn't put it pass anyone on board when they were from different universes.
Still, she didn't really want anyone to know she was an old hand at this. Questions and uncomfortable situations she wanted to avoid. Although, maybe Fatima would understand. "It is not." She admitted reluctantly, clasping her hands together.
"Please, tell me about Dean."
no subject
And Fatima hated feeling like a child.
Still. She'd gathered a lot of valuable data from Alec. Troll or not. The girl, at least, seemed nicer. So she swallowed her irritation and swallowed her pride.
It was a sign of great respect, actually.
"I met Dean Winchester in another multiversal hub," she said slowly and calmly. "Four separate times. Brought in from four separate points in time and possible two different versions of his own reality." She gestured up to the drawing on the board. "I wanted to use this as a demonstration of the way the multiverse functions."
no subject
"I've never had this experience before." Aside from those in her own universe, she hadn't encountered the same person twice in all her travels. "Does this happen often or have I been lucky? What were the differences like? How... different was he each time?" This last question was accompanied by an all too brief pained expression. It was an important question for her, something to put into perspective what she had gone through.
no subject
So she decided to let it go for the moment.
"How was he different..." Probably an easier place to start.
If the word 'easy' could actually be applied to a Winchester.
She sucked in some air between her teeth. "Different in the way that life changes us and life experiences alter our personalities, I guess. Dean Winchester's life isn't exactly what you'd call normal. So the four years from Dean 1.0 to Dean 3.0 had a profound impact on him. He was less carefree, less joyful. But the months between Dean 3.0 and Dean 4.0 had less of an impact. Less time for things to go wrong, I guess."

Re: Multiverse Primer
The teacher and the diagram seemed normal enough, so he moved to a seat.
no subject
Fortunately, a beardy guy didn't exactly warrant karate kicks.
He looked fairly ordinary, to be honest. Which was oddly refreshing, considering.
"Hey," she said, offering him a polite smile. "Multiverse Primer?"
no subject
"Yes, ma'am. Just found out about it and signed up. Hope you don't mind!"
He was half-prepared to leave if she didn't want him there. There were issues, there.
no subject
Maybe.
Fatima had kind of lost track of her age.
But she let it pass, closing her notebook and resting it on her lap. "Just so I don't make an ass of myself" and there was an 'again' implied there, "Is this your first time through the rigmarole of multiversal travel, or have you been around the merry-go-round before?"
no subject
"Hm? Oh well, this is the first time." He paused. "And I am not sure. I might not have actually changed universes coming here." He smiled uncertainly at her.
no subject
"Well, multiverse 101," she said, smiling a little less forcedly. "You've definitely changed universes coming here."
She gestured to a seat on the end of the semi-circle, near her stool. "Plop down. Tell me your name."

"Sweet! You travel between dimensions too?" He walked in excitedly, studying it more closely. The difference in personality based on different experiences was absolutely true. But... "Wouldn't the biggest sign be having two of the same person in the same world at the same time?"
no subject
She glanced up from her notebook when a strange voice interrupted her little sulk.
Great. Yet another person who obviously didn't need her help in any way, shape, or form.
Her ego was sore.
"There was some overlap," she admitted, her voice a little hoarse. "But I guess you don't need me to tell you about that."
no subject
That was a long time ago, but it made an impact on Minoru, who did a lot of traveling between worlds and dimensions as a Snake Sage. He certainly wasn't an expert at it, though. He needed the Great Snake Lord Elders to make portals for him or he couldn't cross over. He ran into people every now and then that ended up somewhere completely by accident. His late mother was one of the few he ever heard of that could actually do it, at will, without help.
"How does it normally happen?" He asked, honestly curious. Was his family the rule or the exception to it? "Going between dimensions?"
no subject
She wasn't sure there was a response at all, so she bit back a thousand possible replies and decided to just ignore it.
If you didn't pay attention to something, you didn't have to try to wrap your mind around it.
...right?
"I...can't say there's any kind of 'normal,'" she replied. "But from my personal experience, kidnapping is usually involved."
no subject
"Kidnapping? Like someone crosses dimensional lines and takes them too? Or..." He thought about the worlds he'd been in that seemed to have a high number of people who arrived 'accidentally.' Could someone have been making it happen? "Someone like this Q everyone keeps talking about?"
no subject
And most of that had come from Beverly. Who probably had a bit of a bias.
