[Ten Forward] Release from Quarantine and Rooming Assignments
Lieutenant Worf has gathered all of the new "guests" together in Ten Forward to instruct them on correct behavior and protocols now that they have been released from quarantine. He looks as happy and approachable as you might expect, which is to say he doesn't. It is his duty, and the captain's instructions, and so he will handle this riffraff the honorable way.
"The computer will instruct you on where all cleared-for-access decks are. You only have to ask where the area you are trying to get to is located, and it will give you clear directions. Do not visit any restricted areas. The bridge, engine rooms, transporter rooms, and all command centers are off-limits."
This is chased by a stern look to all the gathered guests.
"With that in mind, there are a few rules you must obey before I give you your new assignments. One, do not discharge any weapon while on the Enterprise. Two, do not assault any other passenger aboard in any way; that includes injury, death, or violating their personal rights. Three, do not tamper with the operational procedures of the ship. Four, do not steal items or technology from the ship. Five, do not interrupt any official areas of the ship without proper authorization, and do not invade the privacy of other guest or crew quarters.
"Copies of the Prime Directive will be made available to all of you, and placed in each room. As you are not Starfleet officers, you are not obligated to abide by this rule; however, it is important you understand why we do."
He takes a deep breath. Unless they show themselves to be undisciplined or unruly, it is the most he can do.
"Now, the rooms," he rumbles, reading aloud the list of quarters, their location, and the guests who will be sharing them.

"I will remain here to answer questions," Worf concludes. "And my team will be standing by to escort you where you need to be."
The list is also displayed on a PADD, where people can refer to it if they need to.
[ooc: This post is open for everyone to tag in and meet their new roommates and neighbors, "party post" style! Everyone should participate if and when they can, so they can get acquainted with who they will be rooming with for at least the next several months. Rooms are aligned the way they would be in a typical hotel: odd numbers on the left, even numbers on the right (so 0711 and 0713 will be next door neighbors, while 0712 is directly across the hall). There is an OOC post in the OOC comm where players can connect with questions and where we'll post more details about the rooms themselves, so check in over there! If you need to ask security questions, or need them to swing by another thread, just put "Security officer, please!" in the subject line of your tag, and the mods will send someone to you ASAP.]

Re: Room # 0723 - Andros and Steve Rogers
Still, he ventured around. Might as well introduce himself.
"Hello?"
no subject
"Hey! Just a minute," he calls, stuffing his bag under the desk, making sure it's out of sight. He positions the small chair in front of it, and trots out into the common room. "You must be Andros?"
Steve's a big guy, over six feet with broad shoulders and arms that could crush walnuts. He could be intimidating, if not for the friendly expression he wears on his face and his approachable nature. He holds out a hand. "I'm Steve. Steve Rogers."
no subject
"I am. It's nice to meet you." That was the appropriate comment, right? Andros glanced quickly at his wrists and then remembered he had vanished his morpher in place for his communicator. Much less inconspicuous to....be wearing a watch with no watch face. Sure.
no subject
He still smiles, gives a firm shake and a respectful nod, says "nice to meet you, too," and pretends like his eyes don't follow when Andros glances at his wrists. Steve knows what a wristwatch looks like, and they usually tell time.
"So I guess we're stuck with each other," he says, going for something light. He smiles crookedly, and rubs the back of his neck. "It's been a few years since I've had a roommate. But, uh, I'm tidy and mostly keep to myself. If you hear any loud noises, I just ... like to exercise."
And for a guy who can bench 2k pounds, sometimes he gets carried away.
no subject
Andros likewise pretends not to notice that Steve noticed his glance. "What did you do before your unexpected trip here? I was.....I guess the only way you can describe it is special forces."
Although he was 99% sure that special forces didn't have giant zords, but, hey it was close right? Right?
no subject
"Really? I had a special contract with the US government myself," he nods. "Though, currently my direct employment isn't affiliated with any government."
Or so they say. S.H.I.E.L.D. likes to keep its secrets, but who it's in bed with isn't one they're particularly good at keeping. The answer is: everyone. Steve was an army hero, a World War II captain, and Captain America; the United States wasn't exactly about to give him up, but they could put him on loan with an organization they had large stock in.
He smiles lopsidedly. "I wonder if the people here knew what they were doing when they put us together."
I'm a horrible person! I'm sorry !
"If they know our backgrounds, that's...a bit disconcerting." He liked spying on people. It was a pasttime. What Andros didn't like was people spying on him. "I'm not sure I like the idea of people we don't know having such a detailed background on us." Or, well, him.
But, he was being sour, he knew. And rude. Be nice Andros. You have to live with this man."In any case, it's nice to meet someone who has...similar interests."
LOL, you are the farthest thing from horrible! No worries. :)
"Their computers are more advanced than anything I've seen outside of Stark Industries, but I don't think they're intuitive," he says. "Could be wrong, but from the medical exams it seems like they have to manually enter information. I don't know about you, but I haven't exactly given them my entire life's story."
Steve can be sour as well, but mostly he's just wary. The future has dulled his trust and idealism a bit. It hasn't done anything to his wit and sarcasm, on the other hand. He smiles lopsidedly, and nods. "Yeah, it is. Nice to meet you, I mean. I, uh, wouldn't mind having someone I can compare notes with."
Because if Andros is the kind of guy Steve thinks he is, then he's been keeping an eye on this place, too.
no subject
"My own universe has technology like this, although my ship is a bit smaller. The doctor I saw did have to input information but, who's to say they would have the information to begin with? What if it's on another computer or separate AI? I find it hard to believe they would put us together by accident."
Andros was such a trusting person. If he thought it would make a difference, he'd scan the room for bugs.
no subject
"So you think our situation was orchestrated by more than just a malevolent outside force?" he asks, rubbing his chin. "What universe do you come from?"
He can't believe he actually has to ask that question.
no subject
Andros wasn't the most trusting person. Having people continuously trying to kill you would do that to a person. "What universe do I come from? Well, I can tell you it's not this one. If we have a star chart I could point out the features similar. Do you think that would help?"
no subject
"In my, uh, universe, there are a few organizations I can think of who could pull off something like this," he says, brow beetled. "I come from a version of Earth where people are just now figuring out we're not alone in the universe, and the other guys out there don't always play nice."
He doesn't get the feeling he and Andros come from the same place, but if there's a common thread between them it's something to work from, at least. "Have you ever heard of the Bifröst? Asgard? Chitauri? A device called a Tesseract?" Beat. "S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
no subject
Andros figured it was a long shot. It didn't seem like they were from the same universe, but there still could be some crossover, some similarity between the two. It was possible, but unlikely.
no subject
"No, nothing sounds familiar," he says, a little disappointed in the admission. There are, of course, many more things it could be, but those five were his best chance of drawing a direct parallel between Andros and himself. He smiles lopsidedly. "I guess that rules out a common theme between our points of origin. At least for now."
He runs his hand through his hair, and stands akimbo. "Still, whether we were put together by accident or not, between the two of us maybe we can figure out a way to get everyone home."
no subject
"We should get to know our surroundings first, I think, before we make any judgements. We might have been put together by chance." Andros didn't think so, but it was possible.
no subject
"I'll let you know when I figure that out," he says. He may be the Star-spangled Man with a Plan, but he's working with a whole new set of parameters; confidence and attention to detail aren't enough for a fully-fledged game plan just yet. "But I was thinking the same thing. We're going to be stuck here for a while, so we might as well be on each other's side. There's a lot of ship to cover for just one person."
If there's anyone he's going to divide and conquer with, it's Natasha. But Andros and he share a level of privacy here. He'll share his notes on what he finds out, if Andros does the same.
