[Ten Forward] Release from Quarantine and Rooming Assignments
Lieutenant Worf has gathered all of the new "guests" together in Ten Forward to instruct them on correct behavior and protocols now that they have been released from quarantine. He looks as happy and approachable as you might expect, which is to say he doesn't. It is his duty, and the captain's instructions, and so he will handle this riffraff the honorable way.
"The computer will instruct you on where all cleared-for-access decks are. You only have to ask where the area you are trying to get to is located, and it will give you clear directions. Do not visit any restricted areas. The bridge, engine rooms, transporter rooms, and all command centers are off-limits."
This is chased by a stern look to all the gathered guests.
"With that in mind, there are a few rules you must obey before I give you your new assignments. One, do not discharge any weapon while on the Enterprise. Two, do not assault any other passenger aboard in any way; that includes injury, death, or violating their personal rights. Three, do not tamper with the operational procedures of the ship. Four, do not steal items or technology from the ship. Five, do not interrupt any official areas of the ship without proper authorization, and do not invade the privacy of other guest or crew quarters.
"Copies of the Prime Directive will be made available to all of you, and placed in each room. As you are not Starfleet officers, you are not obligated to abide by this rule; however, it is important you understand why we do."
He takes a deep breath. Unless they show themselves to be undisciplined or unruly, it is the most he can do.
"Now, the rooms," he rumbles, reading aloud the list of quarters, their location, and the guests who will be sharing them.

The list is also displayed on a PADD, where people can refer to it if they need to.
[ooc: This post is open for everyone to tag in and meet their new roommates and neighbors, "party post" style! Everyone should participate if and when they can, so they can get acquainted with who they will be rooming with for at least the next several months. Rooms are aligned the way they would be in a typical hotel: odd numbers on the left, even numbers on the right (so 0711 and 0713 will be next door neighbors, while 0712 is directly across the hall). There is an OOC post in the OOC comm where players can connect with questions and where we'll post more details about the rooms themselves, so check in over there! If you need to ask security questions, or need them to swing by another thread, just put "Security officer, please!" in the subject line of your tag, and the mods will send someone to you ASAP.]

There are plenty of people who might have taken an opportunity like this to start with a blank slate, be someone other than whoever they were back home, but not Zinda. She's just pleased as punch to be exactly who she is and no one else. "I guess you're Natasha?"
Jumping down from the chair, she strides over, hand out and smile wide. "Boy, it's just like being back in barracks. How y'doing, sis?"
no subject
Under these circumstances, friendly agent is better than aloof.
"And I think pretty well, given the whole alien abduction thing," Natasha adds, voice dry and amused. "Yourself?"
no subject
Around them, folks are meeting and greeting, and she takes a look around at them, hands on her hips. "Guess we oughta find our quarters, huh?"
no subject
"Guess so." She adjusts her small back - nothing she brought with her, but a couple changes of clothes she'd ordered from the replicator. "Seven-Eighteen, and it's down that corridor. I think."
The Enterprise was less confusing as a TV show.
"Any thing I should know?" she asks as they walk. "I mean...late night parties, secretly you turn into a plant...?"
no subject
"...That the kinda thing you've had happen with a roommate before?"
no subject
Look, if she's been kidnapped by a strange omnipotent entity, she might as well try and find things entertaining.
no subject
Seems reasonable enough, but she only bumps for a second on her new roommate's strange question before shrugging it off. "Yes to the first -- I've been known to throw a shindig or two in my time, but seeing as I don't know anyone here, I expect it won't be a problem -- and a solid no on the second, sis. Scout's honor -- no plant-turning tendencies, here. Or anything else, just to cover my bases."
no subject
"A friend of mine's here. A guy. You okay if sometimes he stays over?"
Another beat.
"Platonic friend, for the record."
no subject
By the look of her, anyone might think Zinda's just heard that they'd rescheduled Christmas for tomorrow morning. Far from worried, she's pleased as punch, and it all shows clear as day across her features. "That's a lucky break. Sure, bring'm on over, I don't care. I used to have to bunk with the boys in my squadron from time to time, and there's no way, no how any one man's gonna be worse than eleven of 'em, no matter how he snores."
no subject
It's nice having someone at least say she's accepting that at face-value.
"Thanks. And, uh, squadron? You're military?"
no subject
She kicks loosely at the floor and lifts her shoulders, pushing her hands into the pockets of her jacket. "I guess I'm more of an 'independent contractor,' whatever the goin' definition of that might be."
Glancing over, she lifts her eyebrows beneath her uniform cap. "You?"
no subject
"And here we are, seven-eighteen."
The living room beyond is...well. It reminds her of a hotel; trying to be generically welcoming and functional, all at once.
no subject
Aside from complain about the length of her skirt, but Zinda chooses to overlook that slight today, in favor of striding into their room and looking about it with interest. "Say, this isn't too bad, is it?"
no subject
She's only just met the woman, after all.
"Certainly been worse places," Natasha agrees. The print on the wall catches her attention; an artist's impression of a binary star system, just as pretty and probably unrealistic as anything in her own time. It makes her feel a little better. Art doesn't always change completely.

She puts her bag down and walks over to where Zinda is.
"What were you thinking of?"
no subject
She prods at the cushioning of one of the chairs, then falls into it, all artless comfort, before grinning wide at her new roommate. "Heck, I don't know. Let's let our imaginations fly free and come up with a little something; it's only right, starting off just gettin' to know each other. I just clean forgot to do any kind of housewarming shopping for this room I had no idea I'd be living in."
no subject
"I would have kitchen supplies. But doesn't seem much use for them here in the future."
She disapproves.
"Computer, one throw rug," and she rapidly clarifies size and colour. A few back and forths follow - it's at the very limits of what this kind of replicator creates - but in the end, Natasha gets something what she wants. The throw is crocheted and a vibrant yellow, and she tossed it dramatically on a couch. And then falls back into it, testing the couch.
"Kinda like that?"
no subject
She shifts in the chair to throw her legs up over the arm, crossing them and letting her boots bob up and down, laughing at the way Natasha flops into the couch. A finger goes to her chin, and she tips her head back, looking around the room and considering other possible decorations. "Brightening this place up is just what we need."
no subject
She smiles.
"Your turn."
[ooc: and shall we fade them on decorating, or do you want to keep threading them out?]
