[Sickbay]: Round Three scans and vaccines

New guests have arrived on the Enterprise, and that means Lieutenant Worf and his security detail are busy once again bringing them to see Dr. Crusher. Sickbay is fairly typical for a hospital. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you could see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones.

As for the staff, they're all well-groomed and friendly. As a matter of fact, all personnel look harmless. Well, perhaps excluding the sun avatar, but Trance Gemini is as skilled as the Starfleet officers.

"All right, come in," one of them calls out as you enter. "Don't be shy. It's just a scan and a hypospray, nothing to worry about."

Probably.

[ooc: Same rules as before: this is an open log for everybody. Tagging isn't mandatory, but going to sickbay is. So if you'd prefer to skip threading with one of our doctors, you can handwave that your character got a clean bill of health and a shot and were sent on their merry way. For those who are tagging, we have Julian Bashir, Trance Gemini, and Rory Williams on deck, so please specify in the subject line of your tag who you would like. Beverly Crusher can be available if needed, but the player may not always be available. If you would like more details about sickbay, here's the wiki page. If you haven't made your intro yet, you can assume the doctors will want to see your character shortly after they arrive.]

no worries!

Trance smiled and gave him a wink. "That sounds like it'd be fun." She might even let them win a couple times.

"Sometimes. Since I got here I have, but we don't normally have to on board the Andromeda. Her technologies are different." That was her polite way of saying she's from the 52nd century and they're in the 24th.

Trance shook the man's hand gratefully, and gestured to the biobed.

"Just say a seat, or a lie down and I'll do the rest. Wont hurt a bit I promise."

"Does the Andromeda do it herself?" John queries as he lies back (he might as well make himself comfortable. "We do scans on Atlantis, but we only do it once we know there is problem." Everything they encounter could be a potential threat to human and Ancinet scanners.

"If this sucks the life out of me, I will be really disappointed."

"It's a partnership. She does some scans, but needs someone to physically do others. Andromeda is also able to monitor the crew for any abnormalities."

Trance started the scan, making sure the biobed was feeding information to the Enterprises central computer and recording information on his dna and vitals.

"It won't. I promise. Is there anything specific I should know? Are you human? Do you have any allergies?"

John tilts his head on one side, he isn’t sure whether he likes the sounds of a ship that can think for itself. It’s too close to a replicator and he’s seen too many films about robots going rogue. He likes being in control of his surroundings.

“Nope, no allergies. I was human last time checked. Although,” he quirks a smile at her, “There was this one time, I almost became a giant bug. I’d rather not repeat it, so let me know if you see any bug DNA lurking around.”

Trance gave him a little laugh. "Bug DNA wouldn't be healthy. I'll be sure to let you know if I find any. Humans are easy to put back together."

She grabbed the hypo on the nearby table and started setting it up, filling it with the vaccine and antibiotic mixture that they were giving to all patients.

"I'm just going to inject this on your neck. It's a standard vaccine to catch you up to this universe--and an antibiotic just in case you're carrying anything they dont have resistance too here."

"You put many humans back together?" John asks and turns his neck ready for the injection. He isn't even slightly surprised that she isn't human. He's met a few aliens, granted they aren't common place but it isn't polite to go asking them what makes them non human.

"Humpty Dumpty would have been glad to meet you, the king's men sucked at their job."

"I have. Most of the Andromeda crew is human. Well, kind of human. But whose Humpty Dumpty? Are they here? Can I help?" Maybe she should check the guest list, was there someone she missed named Humpty Dumpty?

She pressed the hypospray giving it a second and then took it away.

"Humpty Dumpy sat on a wall and he had a great fall. He broke in to quite a few pieces. No one's worked out how to put him back together." He rubs his hand over the spot the hypospray had been and grinned. He wondered how long he could keep up the pretence that Humpty Dumpty was real.

"I haven't seen any pieces of him onboard."

He could probably keep up the pretense for a very long time. From Trance's reasoning, Humpty Dumpty was real. Somewhere. And also somewhere, those King's men were having a whole lot of trouble patching him back up and might need a hand. Universes were vast, almost infinite. Almost.

Trance looked puzzled though. "Why would pieces of someone be tesseracted on board. Wouldn't that be counter-intuitive to putting him back together? What if all the pieces weren't on board? Was the accident that bad?"

"It was awful, he fell off a very high wall." John sits up and manages to keep a straight face. Honestly, he only kids about with people he might actually like.

" I've noticed that we've all been brought here without everything we had on us. Take me, I had some lovely C4. And some sticky tape we could have used to put people back together with."

"What kind of medics were they that they couldnt even put someone back together who fell of a wall, regardless of how high?" Unless Humpty went splat. That.....would not have been good.

"And just what use would you have for C4 here? It's quite a security risk, no matter how lovely."

"I don't think they were good with glue." John thinks he owes the girl a drink for leading her down the garden path like this.

"It would have come in handy in the caves. Since you've done inoculating me, care to meet for a drink at some point? I can tell you more about Humpty Dumpty."

"I don't drink, but I'd be happy to talk later. " Actually, she didn't eat either. But he hadn't asked that. Trance put away the hypos, scanners and the like. "You're all set."
