[Sickbay]: Round One scans and vaccines

As you enter sickbay tonight, escorted there by Lieutenant Worf and his security detail, you may notice it isn't all that unusual. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you could see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones. As for Chief Medical Officer Crusher herself, she's well-groomed and kindly, wearing her teal uniform and a blue coat. No masks, no rubber gloves. The most dangerous thing about her is that maternal look in her eyes; the one that scolds you for not doing your homework, or leaving your dirty dishes in your room.
The crew makes no promises for Dr. McCoy, on the other hand. He isn't one of ours. You should probably watch your neck.
"All right, don't be shy," Dr. Crusher calls out as you enter. "Come in and sit down. It's just a scan and maybe a hypospray, nothing to worry about."
Probably.
[ooc: This is an open log for everybody. Tagging isn't mandatory, but going to sickbay is. So if you'd prefer to skip threading with one of our doctors, you can handwave that your character got a clean bill of health and a shot and were sent on their merry way. For those who are tagging, we have Bones McCoy and Beverly Crusher (NPC) on deck, so if you'd prefer one over the other just specify it in your tag. If you would like more details about sickbay, here's the wiki page. If you haven't made your OP yet, you can assume the doctors will want to see your character shortly after they arrive.]

And, perhaps more relevantly, the issue of Natasha's paranoia levels.

What an unusual thought. Dr. Crusher tilts her head, but after a few moments of thought she shakes it.
"Anything we discuss today falls under doctor/patient confidentiality," she says. "I'm going to use this tricorder to check for disease, and it will tell me if there's anything wrong with you physically. Is there anything I should know about before we begin?"

"I have some implants attached the nerves in my wrists. Otherwise...I'll see what it turns up."
What turns up is this:
Her body is in close to peak condition for a woman in her late twenties, with enough body fat that it's clear she's keeping it on to maintain her figure. Her metabolism is fast, two to three times faster than the average person. Her major injury is a healed bullet wound on her lower left torso, the scaring both internal and external presenting as easily two decades old. Other scars are fainter - cuts, mostly, and cuts that have been stitched with a plastic surgeon's skill... except some are older than what her body appears. There are faint strains in muscles and joints, but they match what a martial artist or a soldier might put her body through in training.
The implants show up, but so do faint lesions on her brain. Particularly around the memory centres.
(And, it should be said, that Natasha's heart is beating faster than it should, but given how wary she is, that might not be surprising.)

"Well, this 'SHIELD', whatever it is, hasn't been easy on you, I can see that much," she says, tone disapproving. "But you seem to be in excellent physical condition otherwise. I am a little concerned about your heart rate. Do you have high blood pressure?"

"I'm here to make sure everyone stays safe," she says, surprisingly gentle. "So you don't have any reason to be worried. To be honest, after some of the things the scan showed me, I wouldn't think there's anything we could do that could concern you."
Healed breaks, scarred tissue, brain damage. Beverly sighs, switching out her tricorder for a hypospray. "This is just a vaccine, nothing more."
no subject
"I don't feel like funding my therapist's next vacation. Uh, vaccine for what in particular?"
no subject
She says 'twenty-six-year-old female' with the lightest implication. There are certain things about her physiology that read as much older, but that's between her and her therapist for now.

"Just in my shoulder okay?"
no subject
"There," she says. "Not too terrible, right?"
no subject
It might be a bit tight.
"Is that all, Dr. Crusher?"
no subject
"For now. But I expect you to come see me if you have any problems," she says insistently.
no subject
Thank you."
no subject
Hopefully.
"Take care," she says, watching Ms. Romanoff with two f's move away from the biobed.
no subject
But she's probably not fooling Dr. Crusher, either.
