[Sickbay]: Round One scans and vaccines

As you enter sickbay tonight, escorted there by Lieutenant Worf and his security detail, you may notice it isn't all that unusual. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you could see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones. As for Chief Medical Officer Crusher herself, she's well-groomed and kindly, wearing her teal uniform and a blue coat. No masks, no rubber gloves. The most dangerous thing about her is that maternal look in her eyes; the one that scolds you for not doing your homework, or leaving your dirty dishes in your room.
The crew makes no promises for Dr. McCoy, on the other hand. He isn't one of ours. You should probably watch your neck.
"All right, don't be shy," Dr. Crusher calls out as you enter. "Come in and sit down. It's just a scan and maybe a hypospray, nothing to worry about."
Probably.
[ooc: This is an open log for everybody. Tagging isn't mandatory, but going to sickbay is. So if you'd prefer to skip threading with one of our doctors, you can handwave that your character got a clean bill of health and a shot and were sent on their merry way. For those who are tagging, we have Bones McCoy and Beverly Crusher (NPC) on deck, so if you'd prefer one over the other just specify it in your tag. If you would like more details about sickbay, here's the wiki page. If you haven't made your OP yet, you can assume the doctors will want to see your character shortly after they arrive.]

"Follow me."
He walked back to his station and motioned to the biobed. "Have a seat, kid." then he picked up the medical scanner. "Have you been in a fight recently or have any injuries that need direct medical attention before I get started?"
no subject
How to phrase it... "No direct medical attention. Just did a sparring match though. Nothing broke but, you know, things happen."
no subject
"Got a good reason for fighting someone?"
Thought he'd ask as he flipped the scanner on and hovered the disk a few inches over the kid's face.
no subject
He eyed the scanner a little, somewhat nervous on what it would find.
no subject
Actually, they could fix that, but the kid didn't need to know that. Better to keep him out of trouble than show him he could get into it because his injuries wouldn't stay.
The readings came back a moment later. His trauma history was far heavier than Leonard would have liked, but the current injuries list wasn't nearly as bad. He frowned at the device before he put it away. It'd be logged on the record. He'd deal with it later.
"Really, kid, no fighting here unless you have to. Now lay down, the biobed will do the rest of the reading." Well, unless something weird popped up, then there would be a couple more devices to use.
no subject
Bones didn't need to know that the stuff showing up was from more than tournaments. But that was his default answer whenever he did come home injured. It always was. That and he didn't want to talk about being bullied.
Then, he couldn't help but look a little offended as he lied down. "I don't go looking for fights. Never have."
no subject
"Yeah, well then try not to participate if you can, but here it's not avoidable. Space is..." He fell silent, then sighed again, looking down at the kid. "These machines can do a lot, but they're not built to bring back the dead. Just be careful around here."
He looked back towards the screen. The readings were kicking back. Everything seemed normal enough, but the energy reading looked a little funny. He decided to watch and see if it would change.
no subject
No promises though. If he was required to help defend someone, he will. He blinked at the look Bones was giving the screen and already, he was nervous again. Was something showing up?
"...something wrong?"
no subject
"Just a weird reading. One more device then we'll see about getting you out of here. Sorry kid, just gotta be sure. Sit up for me."
Once Adam would sit up, Leonard would hold up a blue medical pad of sorts. "I've got to put this on your face. Is that going to be a problem?" That's code for are you going to freak out because he so did not need that.
no subject
Although really, Adam had no idea what Bones was looking at.
He sat up and gave the pad a weird look. "Well, no, but why does it have to be on my face?"
no subject
"Look, something weird popped up on your energy reading. Haven't seen anything like it before. It's not a big deal, I just need to make sure it's not something that's gonna get triggered and kill everyone on the damn ship. Gotta be thorough. Got it?"
It didn't matter if Adam understood or not. He placed the pad on the kid's face, watched him for a second to make sure the kid wasn't going to try and jerk away, then looked down at the reading screen.
no subject
And then, the pad was on his face. "Got it." Was muffled behind it and he really did have to fight to not jerk back given it was suddenly in his face. An energy reading that he wanted to be sure wasn't triggered?
...was this thing reading his Morphin energy? It wasn't going to kill anyone but he never knew it could seen, especially not in his demorphed state. "Um, pretty sure I don't have anything that's gonna kill anyone on the ship. I'd assume it would have happened by now."
no subject
"This reading come as a surprise to you?"
Because if it's a racial normal, like a difference in the evolution of humans, Leonard might just have to let it go. But they were don't playing twenty questions yet, not even close.
no subject
Wait, would that be his morphin energy? He gave a quick glance to Billy but he couldn't call him over. That would be too suspicious but he did want to ask if he had a weird blue energy reading, or Andros and having it red. Instead, he looked back at Bones and shook his head. "Your tech is really advanced, I don't know anything about readings, especially from a medical standpoint."
That was true, at least. He really didn't know if what he was looking at was the morphin energy or not, but he didn't want to take a guess in front of Bones. He couldn't break his oath.
no subject
"There isn't any special abilities that you have that you think could make this kind of reading?"
no subject
So hey, he's not denying he has any special abilities, but just not admitting it's related to the reading.
no subject
"Alright, kid, you can go. Something comes up about that energy reading, you tell me. I need to log it, alright?"
no subject
...not. Adam is keeping his oath, Bones.
no subject
Get out of his station, Adam. Unless you want some shots. He could give you a few. It won't hurt. Much.
