[Sickbay]: Round One scans and vaccines

As you enter sickbay tonight, escorted there by Lieutenant Worf and his security detail, you may notice it isn't all that unusual. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you could see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones. As for Chief Medical Officer Crusher herself, she's well-groomed and kindly, wearing her teal uniform and a blue coat. No masks, no rubber gloves. The most dangerous thing about her is that maternal look in her eyes; the one that scolds you for not doing your homework, or leaving your dirty dishes in your room.
The crew makes no promises for Dr. McCoy, on the other hand. He isn't one of ours. You should probably watch your neck.
"All right, don't be shy," Dr. Crusher calls out as you enter. "Come in and sit down. It's just a scan and maybe a hypospray, nothing to worry about."
Probably.
[ooc: This is an open log for everybody. Tagging isn't mandatory, but going to sickbay is. So if you'd prefer to skip threading with one of our doctors, you can handwave that your character got a clean bill of health and a shot and were sent on their merry way. For those who are tagging, we have Bones McCoy and Beverly Crusher (NPC) on deck, so if you'd prefer one over the other just specify it in your tag. If you would like more details about sickbay, here's the wiki page. If you haven't made your OP yet, you can assume the doctors will want to see your character shortly after they arrive.]
How about a Beverly?
"I'm Doctor Beverly Crusher, would you care to take a bed?" she says.
Re: How about a Beverly?
She turns, looks for a half second until she finds a free bed, and pushes herself up on to it, before giving the doctor -- Crusher, that is so weird -- an apologetic smile.
"And here I thought I was done with my physical for next year already."

As she picks up a tricorder and taps at the display panel, she looks up at Sharon, and asks, "Before we get started, is there any medical history I should be aware of? Disease or illness, anything that could be a contagion?"
no subject
And there isn't. She's a healthy twenty-six year old woman, clear-eyed and clear-skinned, with excellent blood pressure and pulse rate, who can rattle off her medical history without stumbling over a single term. There's nothing particularly special about her -- a few scars here and there, and the solid, flexible build of someone who probably does a lot of yoga or pilates and plyometrics. Her family history has a normal amount of genetic disorders: cancer here and there, dementia in one or two elderly relatives.
"I don't know if this is helpful at all," she adds, as she's finishing listing her background, "but I'm a nurse. Back home, I mean."

"I'll put a note of that down," she says genuinely. "And if we need the extra hands I will let you know," Beverly continues, scanning Sharon over with the tricorder. It doesn't turn up anything particularly unusual, which was relieving.

At least, that's the idea. It was a gamble, offering that information, but Steve -- and Steph -- would expect Kate to offer, and it's not as though she could be any good even if she had actual medical training. Everything Kate Newton would know is woefully out of date by now, almost as useless as Sharon's field training.
But Kate would offer, so Sharon does.
"I guess we've been keeping you pretty busy, huh?"
no subject
"Oh yes," she says, but it's nothing more than amused, the way she shakes her head. "With so many people showing up from who-knows-where-and-when, everyone's got to go through the scans and checkins, and there are a surprising lot of you," Beverly says. "But more of you than not have been tolerable patients."
no subject
"How does it look?"
no subject
Though, less perfect than some of the ones that have come through. Sharon's readings are thankfully at least within human range. "I do appreciate your offer."
no subject
"Am I free to go?"
