[Sickbay]: Round One scans and vaccines

As you enter sickbay tonight, escorted there by Lieutenant Worf and his security detail, you may notice it isn't all that unusual. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you could see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones. As for Chief Medical Officer Crusher herself, she's well-groomed and kindly, wearing her teal uniform and a blue coat. No masks, no rubber gloves. The most dangerous thing about her is that maternal look in her eyes; the one that scolds you for not doing your homework, or leaving your dirty dishes in your room.
The crew makes no promises for Dr. McCoy, on the other hand. He isn't one of ours. You should probably watch your neck.
"All right, don't be shy," Dr. Crusher calls out as you enter. "Come in and sit down. It's just a scan and maybe a hypospray, nothing to worry about."
Probably.
[ooc: This is an open log for everybody. Tagging isn't mandatory, but going to sickbay is. So if you'd prefer to skip threading with one of our doctors, you can handwave that your character got a clean bill of health and a shot and were sent on their merry way. For those who are tagging, we have Bones McCoy and Beverly Crusher (NPC) on deck, so if you'd prefer one over the other just specify it in your tag. If you would like more details about sickbay, here's the wiki page. If you haven't made your OP yet, you can assume the doctors will want to see your character shortly after they arrive.]

But her helping in the sickbay? That was something he might contest. Or would have on his Enterprise. His eyes flicked uncertainly from Trance to Dr. Crusher. He really hoped Beverly said no. But they could use the help, couldn't they?
no subject
This was not a decision she'd have liked to be faced with under any circumstances, but there it was staring her in the face. "If the Captain clears you, and the need for extra hands arises, then I can't see a reason to keep you from helping. But I would need to be sure you know what you're doing," she says, tone sterner. She will not have incompetence in her sickbay, for the benefit of everyone there.
"We do use nanites in cellular surgery procedures, yes."
no subject
"What century is it?"
Unlike the Federation, Trance had really no problem changing events, as long as things progressed the way she wanted them to. Dr. Crusher would soon learn she was not incompetent. In fact, she had 5 billion years of experience and had performed surgery on species she'd never even met.
no subject
"It's the twenty-forth century."
He answered the question with a bit of venom on his tongue. No, he didn't like it. He was from the 23rd century. Never mind the future, he liked it where he was.
no subject
"The year is 2366," she says. "And yes, that's it. You are not to meddle in my sickbay without my permission and my presence, assuming the captain clears you at all, which is a discussion you will need to have with him."
no subject
"This is and will always be your sickbay. But if you tie my hands, I cannot help you--especially with your ever increasing patient size. Do you honestly think Q is going to stop with just one round of strangers? The fun hasn't even begun yet. You're going to need all the help you can get. Your Federation and my Commonwealth are not that dissimilar."
no subject
"Q?" He glanced from Trance to Beverly, looking at the doctor for an answer. She was an original crew member. She'd know. And he wanted answers. Maybe this wasn't the time but like hell he was going to let it go. He thought it was an anomaly. Without a name.
no subject
The earlier teasing game of twenty-questions regarding Trance's identity and vital information did not help. She turns to MCoy. "Q is the reason you are all here, Doctor. He is the anomaly you were told of."
no subject
Trance was quite sure there would be similarities with the Systems Commonwealth, both old and new. There was something about this universe, dissimilar to their own, but....woven from a similar thread.
"Our earlier incident aside, Captain Hunt would want me to respect your regulations. Unless they're really, really awful that is. No mindless killing, no chemical, or biological weapons or the like. This looks like a well functioning military vessel. I assume your regulations are well thought out."
no subject
This is news to Leonard. He. Picard failed to mention that the anomaly in charge was a living being. He knew why, of course. People would freak out if they knew the anomaly was a person like Leonard was doing. Luckily his words came out like a low whisper so no one else heard, but he'd speak to Picard about this later. Among other things, no doubt.
Then he looked at Trance. "They're not awful. They shouldn't be, at any rate. Assuming they haven't changed in the past one-hundred years." Glaring at Beverly now thanks.
no subject
Just think, Beverly, you could still be the head of Starfleet medical. But no. No, you had to return to this damn ship.
"There are regulations, of course," she says, voice slightly raised. "And you will be expected to adhere to them. But as I've already informed you, Trance, that will need to be brought to the captain's attention."
Never mind the fact that she somehow knew about Q, regardless of the crew's discretion. Beverly turns next to Bones. "And as for you, could you please keep your voice down? Yes, he. Now, I don't know how Trance found out about Q, but he has meddled with things like this in the past. The captain has chosen not to share that information at present to keep things contained, and I am duty bound to follow his instructions in the matter. So stop glaring."
no subject
Trance saw reality in all its permutations. All possibilities, as real as this, went through her mind constantly. Every action had a new possibility, a new future. How did Trance know? She guessed. She was a good guesser. There were other possibilities of course, and if she had been wrong--well, she'd try again. But Trance was rarely wrong, as casino's often found out very quickly.
"Are we done here? Is there anything else you need of me?"
no subject
Leonard peered over at Beverly, glare eased, then stared down at his PADD and waited for the other doctor to finish the conversation and walk away. He just started annotating information on Trance's file at this point, peering up at the readings on the biobed to record them into specific areas on the file. If they wanted to talk, they could finish the conversation without him.
