[Ten Forward] Rooming Assignments | Round #3
They are entering their third month of this nonsense, and Lieutenant Worf will never admit that the increased activity and responsibility is ... thrilling. He is as stone-faced as always, glaring out over the assembled crowd without a hint of happiness. The medical team have cleared through a new crop of passengers, all needing permanent lodgings. So Ten Forward is where you will find yourselves today, staring down the barrel at an unhappy Klingon.
As chief of security, it is Worf's responsibility to instruct everyone on the correct behavior and protocols needed for life aboard the Enterprise. It is his duty, and the captain's instructions, so he will handle this the honorable way. As he has done this before, he has a speech prepared:
"Now, the rooms," he rumbles, reading off the list of quarters, their location, and the guests who will be sharing them.
Deck 07, Section 4
Room # 0741 - Seamus Harper and Clayton Danvers
Room # 0742 - KITT's hologram and Andrew McKee
Room # 0743 - Ginny Weasley and Topher Brink
Room # 0744 - Irian t'Aumne and Henry Gold
Room # 0745 - TWO SECURITY PERSONNEL
Room # 0746 - Tyr Anasazi and Telemachus Rhade
Room # 0747 - Chase Collins and Angeal Hewley
Room # 0748 - Dylan Hunt and Lucie Miller
Room # 0749 - Simon Tam and The Doctor (Eight)
Room # 0750 - TWO SECURITY PERSONNEL
Room # 0751 - Kaylee Frye and Laura Kinney
Deck 08, VIP Quarters
Room #0142 - Kathryn Janeway and Jonathan Archer
Room #0143 - Gul Dukat and Tora Ziyal
Room #0144 - James T. Kirk and John Sheppard
"I will remain here to answer questions," Worf concludes. "And my team will be standing by to escort you where you need to be."
The list is also displayed on a PADD, where people can refer to it if they need to.
[ooc: Open log for building CR with new roommates and meeting neighbors, "party post" style! Everyone should participate if and when they can, so they can get acquainted with who they will be rooming with for at least the next several months. Rooms are aligned the way they would be in a typical hotel: odd numbers on the left, even numbers on the right (so 0711 and 0713 will be next door neighbors, while 0712 is directly across the hall). There is an OOC post in the OOC comm where players can connect with questions, and where we'll post more details about the rooms themselves, so check in over there. If you need to ask security questions, or need them to swing by another thread, just put "Security officer, please!" in the subject line of your tag, and the mods will send someone to you ASAP.]

"The computer will instruct you on where all cleared-for-access decks are. You only have to ask where the area you are trying to get to is located, and it will give you clear directions. Do not visit any restricted areas. The bridge, engine rooms, transporter rooms, and all command centers are off-limits.
"With that in mind, there are a few rules you must obey before I give you your new assignments. One, do not discharge any weapon while on the Enterprise. Two, do not assault any other passenger aboard in any way; that includes injury, death, or violating their personal rights. Three, do not tamper with the operational procedures of the ship. Four, do not steal items or technology from the ship. Five, do not interrupt any official areas of the ship without proper authorization, and do not invade the privacy of other guest or crew quarters.
"Copies of the Prime Directive will be made available to all of you, and placed in each room. As you are not Starfleet officers, you are not obligated to abide by this rule; however, it is important you understand why we do.
"Now, the rooms," he rumbles, reading off the list of quarters, their location, and the guests who will be sharing them.

Room 0744 / Security
///
But before Henry entered the room, he spent sometime staring at the security officer. He wasn't human. His forehead was different. He continued to stare until he figured out a way to ask about them, not realising he probably making the man nervous.
"Why does your forehead have mountains on it?"

She had been an officer for some decades, first in the Tal Shiar and then in the Romulan Republic, and was unused to sharing quarters. Being spied upon, yes, but physically sharing her space with someone else was an uncomfortable novelty. Still, she was simply going to have to grow used to it. The door to the guest suite opened for her, and she walked in — and almost immediately stopped still at the sight of the human child sitting there in the common area.
Elements above and beyond, had they assigned her a child for her roommate? She'd never had children, had never spent any time around children for more than a few moments. And yet... here was this little boy. He didn't look like a twenty-fourth century child. He'd probably never even seen a Rihanha before.
"Hello," she addressed him, a little abruptly. For a woman normally so quick with words, she had little idea of what to say here — and that made her nearly more uncomfortable than the rest of it.

"Hi. I'm Henry." It was true he'd never seen her species before but while he was curious, he was still trying to be polite. Sadly, with the tact on the his maternal side of his family, he sometimes failed. "I'm human. What's your species?"
so this is only a month late, yeah
no worries~

His eyes widen in response to the question, his posture straighter, prouder.
"They are not ... mountains," he says. "I am a Klingon. We do not suffer from smooth foreheads as humans do."
'Smooth'. What a detestable word.

Room 0747
He followed the map while he navigated the corridors to his given room. He stopped just shy of his assigned room number and on the PADD, he checked to see who his neighbors were. To his surprise, he recognized this area. Genesis had taken him here before and he looked over his shoulder to see if he could see her.
Quickly, he glanced around, his eyes studied the people that were doing the same. He turned back to face his room once again and entered the given quarters. Inside seemed so cold and empty. Inside his pockets were the seeds of the Banora white trees that Genesis had managed to save, which were the only things left of their hometown.
Once inside, he looked around and saw the darkness of space. So vast, Angeal felt small and he sighed while he took his steps further into the space. He chose the room furthest from the door and most likely the least desirable of the two. The reason for this was he didn't want to argue with his potential roommate. He as glad to have just the bed and he would have been fine.
Room 0741
There were times when Beka insisted that things be cleaned up before they got up and walked away of their own accord. It had taken Harper a while to get out of the habit of storing up food like a squirrel waiting for winter. The machine shop at least was a majority of empty cans of Sparky Cola.
Re: Room 0741
Clay hasn't shared a bedroom since he was five so this should be interesting.
Clay enters the room he has been assigned and instantly catches his new roommates scent. The scent is cataloged and he makes an extra mental note that he is sharing this place with him.
Taking a deep breath before he locates the bed that Seamus doesn't seem to be using. The mess doesn't bother the werewolf, he isn't much better so that is something.

Harper heard the sound of someone entering. He appeared from his side of the quarters. "Hey, Clayton right?" If he'd heard right. "Seamus Zelazny Harper, but call me Harper." Most did, in Dylan's case it was Mr. Harper when he needed to pay attention and when he got Seamus or his full name from Beka then it was trouble. Usually trouble he'd caused but still.

Room 0751 & For Simon
[For Simon (and interruptions?]
Kaylee was annoyed. It took a lot for her to get annoyed but it seemed like this 'verse was just as much ready to put anything it could between her and Simon as the one they'd come from. So they were only next door but that was still more than she'd care after what he'd finally said to her in the middle of the battle. She glared at the space between the two doors. "Jīngcǎi..."
Interruptions!
Even if the other name in that room is Telemachus Rhade. Telemachus Rhade who kept Tarazed from him. Telemachus Rhade who he can't even look at without being reminded of Gaheris.
Telemachus Rhade, who he's going to make a problem for another day.
He's checking out the rooms on the other side of them now. Just opposite the security team who are Dylan's other next door neighbors is room 0751, and there are two people in there he hasn't met yet.
He knocks on the door, ready to greet whoever opens it with a friendly, "Hi".
no subject
"Gaisi." Probably not the response the man saying hi was expecting. "Bàoqiàn. I..." Kaylee looks a little flustered about the situation so starting over might be a good option. "Hi."

Re: Room 0751 & For Simon
He still doesn't have his head around the concept that they're so suddenly in a different time and a different place, most likely even a different reality, because it's one where the Alliance seems not to exist.
And that's on top of what happened on the planet.
He wishes River were here. He wishes he had any idea what had happened to her beyond the last glimpses he'd had of her warily eying the Alliance troops who'd been coming in to take Simon and the other wounded to their medical facility.
He wishes a lot of things.
And one of them, right now, is to be around Kaylee. The one solid, definite thing he can rely on here. The one person he knows.
His knuckles rap softly on the door of the room next door to his.
"Kaylee?"
no subject
She needs this, him, Simon. Kaylee needs to know he's okay still. Yes she's still annoyed as anything about that wall being in the way but there's more than just the obvious reason behind it all. There's still the loss of Wash and Book to deal with. "How you feelin'? I don't care what you think you're gonna be takin' it easy for a while."

Lucie Miller waits outside, tapping her foot. She impatiently chimes the bell again.
"Doctor..." she mutters. "Answer the door!"

Room 0748 & whoever wants to stop by
Not that he can't get by in guest quarters. He's stayed in plenty of worse accommodations than the temporary quarters here, but he does miss his quarters with their little remnants of his long-lost life, like the Go board where he used to play with Gaheris, the photograph that's all he has left of Sara, and the familiarity of home. Or as close as he has anymore.
But as guest quarters go, the ones on the Enterprise are comfortable enough. If small.
Re: Room 0748 & whoever wants to stop by
Lucie saw that she was rooming with a bloke. At least, she assumed he was a bloke, with a name like "Dylan Hunt." A bit macho, wasn't it? "Dylan Hunt." She could picture a romance novel starring an American Civil War soldier named "Dylan Hunt," romancing some sweet young thing named, like, Kathleen O'Hara, and he'd be shirtless on the cover, helping Kathleen out of her corset or something.
Of course, there are women named Dylan. Mostly Welsh, in her experience. That wouldn't be too bad, would it?
"Hello?" she called out cautiously. "Anyone here?"
Re: Room 0748 & whoever wants to stop by
He drops it back on the desk when he hears the voice from the main room.
"Yeah."
He turns and heads back for the main room, curious to meet Lucie Miller, his new roomie.
"Hi," he says as the door opens and he steps through. He stops, surprised, with a little frown. She's ... he's not sure what he expected, but young and blonde and pretty probably wasn't it. "I'm Dylan. Captain Dylan Hunt. And you must be Lucie."

He was used to the surroundings of trees, birds, and other creatures from the land and sea. He did admit to himself that the vessel he found himself on was an elegant one with clean lines and smooth edges as he stopped to admire the ship's digital map on the view screen.
His arms folded in his study, a sign of focus and a willingness to learn, he didn't think that the size of the Enterprise was an issue in the least. Then, the comparison had struck him. It was about the size of ShinRa and his brow knitted in thought with a soft sigh with a stroke to his chin. The stubble scrapped against the leather of his gloves, he noticed that the ship was mostly engine with the saucer area as the work spaces, medical and living quarters. Was he reading this right?
He canted his head to the side with a slight shift of his weight. He looked over his shoulder and noticed that he wasn't the only one in this hall. "A moment of your time," Angeal said in a calm, distinct voice, "Are you familiar with space travel?" It was abundantly clear to Angeal that he was out of his element.

Dylan studies the man in passing; he's tall, strong, built along similar lines to Dylan, maybe even to a Nietzschean, but without the tell-tale bone blades on his arms. He's about to give a nod and pass him by when the guy looks up and, very politely, asks him a question.
Dylan smiles and stops.
"I ought to be, I've served on Argosy starships most of my life," he says, and heads over to the guy.
"I'm Captain Dylan Hunt. I command a ship called the Andromeda Ascendant. How can I help?"

Honestly, Captain Hunt was quite an interesting bloke, and she wanted to see how he was settling in, now that most of the commotion had been calmed.

#746, Rhade and Tyr
All this made him need a drink. He definitely needed alcohol to deal with Tyr. Going over to the replicator, Rhade ordered some brandy, and waited.
